   MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) Overview by
   Mark Grand. "Mime allows mail messages to contain:

      * Text having unlimited line length or overall length.

      * Character sets other than ASCII.

      * Multi-font messages.

      * Binary or application specific files.
